Written by on 20.11.20

Can you believe it’s already December? We can hardly wrap our heads around this, but here it is. So let’s talk about some big events to catch if you’re lucky enough to live in (or visit) New York City in its most decorated month.

So Merry and Bright

Rockefeller Center gets completely into the spirit on Wednesday December 4th, when the Rockefeller Center Christmas Tree lights up.

See it at 30 Rockefeller Plaza, between West 48th and 51st Streets, and Fifth and Sixth Avenues.

The lighting will be accompanied by with live performances from 8 to 10 p.m.

And don’t forget to visit the nearby Bryant Park Winter Village. Located in the heart of Midtown, it’s a market extravaganza! More than 170 vendors and exhibitors participate.

Yuletide and More: All the Carols

If you come between December 11 and December 20, you can hear and see the choirs sing their carols under the Christmas Tree. The groups come from all over the city to perform. Choose your choir! Here’s the schedule:

Brooklyn’s Absolutely Amazing Menorah

At the Grand Army Plaza, there’s a free event nightly throughout Hanukkah.

Check out Rabbi Shimon Hecht taking a ride on a 60-foot-high boom lift and lighting the 32-foot-tall menorah. Everyone is welcome, Jews and non-Jews alike. Enjoy the latkes and live music. Gifts for the kiddos, too!

Sunday, Dec. 22 marks the First Night of Hanukkah, and to celebrate the kickoff there’ll be a live concert at the Grand Army Plaza starting at 4 pm.

Also in Brooklyn…

From now all the way to Feb. 29, Aviator Sports and Events Center at 3159 Flatbush Avenue has it: Ice Bumper Cars! Whether skating or bumping on the ice is your thing, enjoy the thrills with friends or family at Aviator Sport’s Ice rink.

There are a lot of other fun winter family events featured at Aviator too so check out the lineup, or give them a call at 718.758.7500.
