GHOULISHLY FUN EVENTS IN NYC

New York City is known for its round the clock energy and quirky events, particularly for Halloween. Parades, haunted houses and other themed events spring up all over, and living in the heart of Manhattan puts you in the center of everything. Here are a few of the options that locals rave about.

1. Village Halloween Parade

Dress up at your Towne House apartment and join costumed locals as they try out their newest makeup techniques and march up 6th Ave. Living in this pre-war building might help you get into the spirit of things, even if you’ve never noticed a haunting in your luxury apartment home. The parade usually runs between Spring and 16th Streets.

2. The Great Jack O’Lantern Blaze

More than 7,000 carefully carved gourds light up the night at this viewing event. You can see people get creative with their pumpkins or simply walk through the awe-inspiring pumpkin planetarium — all within an hour of your luxury Manhattan home when you live in Regency Towers. The Great Jack O’Lantern Blaze is in Croton-on-Hudson, a very short trip from Manhattan and a lot of fun.

3. Creepy Shopping Spots

New York City really does have it all, all year round. A visit to Obscura Antiques and Oddities will help you find the perfect decorations for your Halloween look — once you’ve calmed down enough after the mummified frog to go back in.

4. Seriously Spooky Cemetery

Big, sometimes run down, and with graves that date back to before the Civil War, Green-Wood Cemetery can keep you busy all Halloween night. Touring its 478 acres you might stumble across famous local graves or haunting monuments. Tucked away in dark corners or next to well-lit paths you’ll also get to enjoy live music, readings, stargazing, and a cash bar.

5. Seasonal Haunted Houses

Every Halloween season, acting companies put on haunted houses designed to thrill and chill. Some of the best include Blood Manor and This Is Real. Both take the idea of the haunted house event and make it interactive and out of this world. Blood Manor is 5,000 square feet of gore and chilling themed rooms. This Is Real gives you a very realistic look at a kidnapping. You’ll be kidnapped and dropped off in a warehouse along with seven other participants and a psychopath as you struggle to make it to the end.
