Living in a Philadelphia comes with more than a few benefits. From concerts and museums to upscale dining, Philly is the perfect place to settle down and call home.

South Street Spring Festival – May 5, 2018

When moving to an Old City apartment in Philadelphia, you’ll be near the South Street Spring Festival. SpringFest is taking place on May 5th this year and there’s never been a better time to go outdoors and enjoy all that the event has to offer.

Spanning more than 12 city blocks, the South Street Spring Festival provides convenient access to an eclectic mix of more than 30 eateries, including some of the city’s top American pubs and bars. There’s also a diverse number of restaurants serving ethnic favorites al fresco.

An assortment of boutiques open their doors all day for SpringFest, all of which are ready to cater to your unique shopping needs. And there will be dozens of local and national artists lining both sides of the street to showcase their handmade goods.

During the festival, you’ll have free access to entertainment. This year’s live performance lineup is locked and loaded with must-see performers, including  Dr. Beardfacé and the Spaceman, Vanderlyle, and Tubey Frank. In 2016, the event had more than 55,000 attendees and this year’s attendance is expected to be even more.

Whether you’re in the mood to relax while swaying to the beats of a local band or dance the day and night away while sipping on cold brews and cocktails, there is a little bit of something here for everyone.

The South Street Spring Festival is perfect for people of all ages. If you bring the kiddos along, you’ll definitely want to swing by Atomic City Comics for the cosplay costume contest where kids can prizes.

For the 21-plus crowd, head on down the street to Brauhaus Schmitz for Maifest, which complements the South Street Spring Fest. It’s here that you’ll find plenty of authentic German food as well as beer on tap and even live performances by the Heimatklänge band. Maifest is often referred to as a festival-within-a-festival and is the ideal place for those wanting to enjoy German culture at its finest in the heart of Philly.
